Gyotaku print measuring 14”t x 11”w of a large Bluegill I personally caught on Lake LBJ in the Texas Hill Country. The process starts with a good cleaning of the fresh fish. I then “ink” the fish with acrylics, “press” the fish with an overlay of rice paper. After the pressing is dry I then prepare and hand paint the image. The pressed image with it’s color is then mounted onto a canvas board for rigidity and strength. The end result is a print that captures every detail and nuance of that specific fish.
